Fans of the Halo franchise can now experience the original game powered by the amazing Unreal Engine 5. This impressive technical feat was made possible by level designer Infinite Forges. The creator has just released a demo of his work, which can be downloaded from today itch.io.
The level designer commented that “this is my second of many fully explorable levels and I really want to put it in your hands!”. Previously, the creator released a demo built with Unreal Engine 4.
This demo is just the beginning for Infinite Forges. The level designer is currently planning to release much more Halo content in the near future. “I’m a fan of the Halo franchise, creating maps and immersive experiences for Halo fans,” Infinite Forges described on his Patreon page. The creator plans to provide “an immersive experience for old and new members of the Halo community and inspire other creators to share what they have.”
This comes in the wake of news that Halo Infinite is going through hard times with the start of its second season. John Junishek, Senior Community Manager at 343 Industries, explained how the development team has been listening carefully to player feedback since the release of the update. “We’re not at the stage where we can make any promises yet, but we want to be transparent and say that we take feedback seriously and are looking at options within the company.”
While there is currently no release date on the horizon, Junishek noted that players can expect an update for the game in the very near future. “Our team has been working hard to get the update out as quickly as possible, but there are still a few steps we need to take before we can release it to the public,” the developer explained. “In the next few days, we will announce more about the specific timing of the release of this update.”
