Actor Norman Reedus Confirms Death Stranding 2 Is In Development And Reveals How He Met Kozma

Norman Reedus, the actor who played protagonist Sam Porter Bridges in Death Stranding confirmed in interviewthat a sequel is in development. In an interview with Leo Edit, the Walking Dead star was incredibly candid when asked about working on the aforementioned Hideo Kojima project. Reedus simply replied, “Recently, we started to create the second part.” It’s just like that, simple and everyday.

It took me maybe two or three years to finish filming for the first part, it was a big job. And then the game came out and won many awards. And so, recently we started to create the second part.

The actor also spoke about how he met Hideo Kojima.

“Guillermo Del Toro, who gave me my first film, called me and said: “Hi, there is a guy here named Hideo Kojima, he will call you, just say yes. I’m like, “What do you mean, say yes?” He says, “Stop being a weirdo, just say yes.” Then I was in San Diego and Hideo came with a big group of people, he’s from Tokyo, and he showed me what he’s working on, a game called Silent Hill. I was blown away by what he was showing me and I thought, “Yeah, let’s do this.” This is not Ms. pacman; it’s so realistic, it’s so futuristic, it’s so intricate and beautiful that I was just blown away.

Death Stranding was first released for PS4 in 2019 and received a re-release for PS5 in 2021, followed by an enhanced edition for PC in 2022. Enough time has passed for Kojima and his team to lay the groundwork for a sequel, so the timing really does match.
