AMD Announces Record Q3 2021 Profit

AMD announced Q3 2021 earnings this week. The tech giant has seen significant growth across the board, including setting multiple records. AMD’s $ 4.3 billion in Q3 2021 revenue is its best third quarter and best overall quarter ever. AMD’s third-quarter 2021 revenue is 54% higher than its third-quarter 2020 ($ 2.8 billion), a record at the time.

“AMD had another record quarter, with revenue growing 54% and operating profit doubling from last year,” said AMD President and CEO. “Shipments of 3rd generation EPYC processors have grown significantly this quarter as our data center sales more than doubled from last year. In 2021, our business has accelerated significantly, growing faster than the market, thanks to our leading products and consistent execution. ”

The company’s net income was $ 923 million, up 137% over the same quarter in 2020.

AMD’s Computing and Graphics Sector generated $ 2.4 billion in revenue in the quarter. This area includes desktop and laptop processor sales and GPU sales. This is 44% more than in the second quarter of 2021. The segment’s operating income also rose from $ 384 million to $ 513 million over the same period last year.

The third quarter of 2021 is the sixth consecutive quarter of record-breaking server processor revenue for AMD.
