Although The Last of Us: Part 2 is still exclusive to PlayStation consoles, modders are trying to improve the game on this platform in various ways. A user named Speclizer managed to make Joel a fully playable character that replaces Ellie even in the cut scenes.

According to the creator of the mod, it is still far from complete. However, Speclizer hand-edited over 50 character lines to make Joel’s play feel more natural. To start the game for the main character from the first part, he had to kill Ellie in a way that the modification simply does not work otherwise.

The Last of Us: Part 2 is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. According to rumors, the developers from Naughty Dog are currently working on a remake of the first part, which will be released on PC and next-gen consoles.
