Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will have high-level Recurring Challenges thanks to a new content update coming June 15th. Called Tests of Mastery, these challenges will test players’ skills and reward them with new weapons, settlement decorations and tattoos for Eyvor.
A video posted on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel details everything players can expect in the update. According to the video, players will be able to participate in Mastery Challenges when they reach Power Level 221. The meteor should then land near Ravenstorp. At the crash site, players will meet Hilderand, a new NPC who will join the settlement and grant players access to Mastery Challenges.
Challenges can be accessed at any of five new shrines that will appear across England. Each temple offers players three different challenges: Trial of the Bear, Trial of the Wolf, and Trial of the Raven. Each challenge will test players for their fighting skills, archery and stealth respectively.
In trials, players will complete specific tasks to earn points. For example, the Trial of the Wolf featured in today’s video will only award points to the player for kills with a headshot, hitting weak spots, or killing all targets in the area. Body shots or indirect kills were not worth points.
By earning points, players also earn medals, which, in turn, also bring them various energies. These energies can be exchanged with the help of Hilderand for new weapons, settlement decorations and tattoo designs. According to Ubisoft Community Manager Dan St. Germain., Completing each challenge will also “unlock a secret treasure.”
