Bloomberg: SEGA is developing big-budget reboots of Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio

SEGA develops high-budget reboots of its games Crazy Taxi and jet set radio in pursuit of global hits, according to Bloomberg report citing sources familiar with the matter.

The two games, which will be released in two to three years, will be the first elements of the “Supergame” initiative announced by SEGA in May 2021. This initiative is an attempt to develop permanent sources of income and create online communities around the company’s existing intellectual property.

In November 2010, SEGA announced a strategic alliance with Microsoft to create large-scale global games in a next-generation development environment built on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, allowing it to advance its “Super Game” initiative to develop new and innovative games.
