On the portal Forbes noticed that on January 14, the Cyberpunk 2077 client on Steam was updated to the new version for the first time since October 2021. According to the available information, CD Project RED is going to skip version 1.4 and immediately release a major patch 1.5, which will be released simultaneously with the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game.
This is also in line with the November statement from CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiczynski:
We’re hard at work on the next generation version of Cyberpunk scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2022, along with another major update across all platforms.
What updates await players in patch 1.5 is still unknown. CDPR recently denied rumors that the game would be upgraded to a Samurai Edition, stating that at least some of the rumors were “made up”. However, some aspects of the leak have been pulled from the client files and should still appear in the game. One of the upcoming updates is New Game+, which will most likely be released alongside the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, giving players a reason to return to the game even if they’ve already beaten the original.
