Denis Villeneuve has announced that the script for Dune 2 has been completed. The team is getting ready to start filming

Director Denis Villeneuve confirmed in an interview with Collider that pre-production on the Dune sequel is in full swing, and the final touches are being put on the script in order to have the film rolled out in time for its October 2023 premiere.

The script, for the most part, is ready, but work on it is still in progress. However, it has already been approved and is in my hands. We are currently in preparation for filming.

Villeneuve also confirmed the extensive use of the IMAX format in the filming of the second part, so that the viewer can enjoy the mesmerizing views of the planet Arrakis to the fullest.

Definitely. [Кинематографист] Greig Fraser and I, we fell in love with this format, and there will definitely be IMAX in this film – even, perhaps even more shots in this format.

Dune Part Two is slated for release in theaters on October 20, 2023.
