Digital Foundry Analyzes Next-Gen Dying Light Update for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

©

Recently, the first Dying Light received a free update for nextgen consoles that allows the game to run at its best on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Digital Foundry has reviewed this update.

The news broke last month, first with the PS5 Dying Light update, then the Xbox Series X|S update, and in both cases the result was the ability to get 60fps and higher resolutions.

But how do these functions manifest themselves in reality? Pretty good, it seems: on Sony and Microsoft consoles, there is no crash, even in the most intense situations: the only way to lose a few frames is to deal with a horde of zombies on fire.

So is everything perfect? Not exactly: 1080p mode and high frame rate should be avoided, as this mode suffers too much image quality in favor of 1440p-like performance.
