Techland released Dying Light 2 last week, and while the game looks great on PC with ray tracing, it’s clear that it’s been downgraded from its original vision.
Nick930 shared a video comparing the E3 2018 and 2019 versions of the game with its retail PC version. To do this, he used all the ray tracing effects that are present on the PC.
Now, as you will see, the city of Dying Light 2 has been hit hard. In the retail version, the city is less dense and has simpler buildings. What’s more, early builds for E3 had better lighting. Not only that, the game now looks more “saturated” and less realistic.
What’s interesting here is that the final version of the game features a mission that Techland showed off back at E3 2019. Comparing this mission, we can easily see the cut that Techland made during the production of the game. And yes, you will easily notice the degraded visuals of the final version.
