In connection with the announcement of the new Witcher saga in the near future CD Project Red confirmed that Jason Slama will be the game director of the next game. Excited that he would be able to fulfill this role, the developer promised that there would be no rework under his direction. This is a necessary caveat following the development news for Cyberpunk 2077.
After all, Jason Slama never appears to have been involved in the creation of Cyberpunk 2077. Analyzing the game director’s LinkedIn profile, it was revealed that during his seven years at CD Projekt RED, he was exclusively involved in the Witcher series. Initially as Senior UI Programmer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and later as Lead Programmer for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, of which he became Director in December 2018, Slama has always kept an eye on the Geralt of Rivia universe.
Also, PR Director of CD Projekt RED Radek Grabowski on his Twitter said that the next part of The Witcher will not be called The Witcher 4.
The Polish company also confirmed that the game will be built on Unreal Engine 5, which means it will launch exclusively for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S.
