Hogwarts Legacy won’t have microtransactions

A huge amount of information has come out about Hogwarts Legacy since the recent State of Play. Along with the first gameplay and behind-the-scenes video with the developer, WB Games Avalanche also revealed the main antagonist(s). She also confirmed that this is a single-player role-playing game, although NPC companions can sometimes help.

Given that this is a AAA game, the question of microtransactions comes up. In fact, this question began to arise so often that the creators of the game had to comment on this. Community Manager Chandler Wood on his Twitter explained that there will be no microtransactions in the game.

We have seen that this issue has already been raised, and we want to clarify. There are no microtransactions in Hogwarts Legacy.

Of course, given the scope of the game, it would be strange not to see new content added through all sorts of DLCs. But at the moment there is no information about them, it is not even known whether they are planned.

Hogwarts Legacy will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch (according to the official FAQ) in December 2022. Along with locations familiar to fans of the series, the game will also feature unseen places. The game also provides multiple difficulty options to satisfy both story lovers and challenge lovers.
