Koei Tecmo today announced its financial results for the first nine months of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.
The company announced that it achieved record results in both sales and profits with strong performance in both console and mobile games.
As a result, the profit target of the company’s medium-term management plan (which was expected to take three years) was reached in one year. The profit forecast for the entire fiscal year has been revised upwards and the medium-term management plan will be revised in April.
For the entire company, net sales were 55,327 million yen, up 25.9% from last year. Operating income was 27,127 million yen, up 40.1% year-over-year.
The entertainment business, which includes both console and mobile games, reached 52.357 million yen in sales and 26.583 million yen in operating income. Compared to respectively 41,465 million and 19.103 million in the previous year. Console game sales and mobile game sales pretty much split this pie in half.
