Lemnis Gate, a turn-based first-person shooter, will be added to Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has announced another new game will be released on Xbox Game Pass on its first day. Turn-Based Tactical Shooter Lemnis Gate Debuts On Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC this summer on the first day of play on Game Pass.

Players control a team of operatives who fight on planets near Earth. There are seven operatives to choose from, each round lasting 25 seconds. “Whatever action you take in that round is then captured and repeated each round until the end of the match,” Game Director James Anderson said on the Xbox Blog.

The 25 Second Time Loop Element is a unique twist for Lemnis Gate designed by Ratloop Games Canada. Players will fight in the past, present and future at the same time, which Anderson says requires skill and strategic thinking from players. On each turn, players interact with past versions of yourself and your opponent. “Will you strive to protect previous instances of your own operatives? Or fight to remove enemies from the battlefield? ”

Lemnis Gate also has a “ghost mode” in which you can continue the game even if one of your soldiers dies.

“Imagine, for example, that one of your operatives is killed by a grenade in the second round,” Anderson said. “You can counter this in a future round, for example using the KARL sphere of defense. This will mean that your dead operative is back in the game, and all subsequent games will be executed and affect the course of the match. “
