It is reported that Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard at a price that exceeds the company’s total capitalization. Activision Blizzard is valued at approximately $50 billion, however the deal closed for $68.7 billion.

According to sources, the big deal is related to a string of scandals at Activision Blizzard. The company’s management is ready to go on sale due to the fact that they cannot cope with large reputational losses.

It should be noted that the deal has not yet been officially closed. The companies will have to pass an antimonopoly inspection. Until then, Activision Blizzard and Microsoft Gaming will continue to operate independently.
