Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin Story Trailer Released

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin launches on July 9th for Nintendo Switch and PC.

Capcom unveiled a new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin during Summer Games Fest 2021. The trailer follows the Rathalos, a large species of wyvern monsters that disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The protagonist Red helps a Wyverian girl named Ena protect Rathalos’ egg, which, if hatched, can be very destructive. The trailer seems to suggest that (surprise) the egg will hatch. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin launches on July 9th for Nintendo Switch and PC.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, like its 3DS predecessor, will play very differently from the main Monster Hunter games. In Wings of Ruin, combat has been replaced by a turn-based combat system. In the role of Red, the grandson of the legendary horseman, you travel the land, taming monsters, and then fighting wild monsters and other horsemen.

If the Pokemon-inspired Monster Hunter experience sounds like your game, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is already available for pre-order. There will also be three new Monster Hunter Amiibo figures available at launch, each unlocking a set of layered armor. For those who also own Monster Hunter Rise, Capcom announced that you can link your save files to unlock an exclusive set of layered armor.
