NetEase acquires Quantic Dream

The French video game developer and publisher will continue to have creative freedom.

NetEase Inc. announced that its gaming division NetEase Games has acquired Quantic Dream SA, one of the world’s leading independent video game developers.

  • Quantic Dream will be the first NetEase Games studio in Europe.
  • The studio will continue to develop high quality AAA video games.
  • Quantic Dream will continue to operate independently, focusing on creating and publishing its video games across all platforms.
  • The company will also continue to support and publish games developed by third parties.

Quantic Dream is known for games such as Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, Detroit: Become Human and the in-development Star Wars: Eclipse. In addition, as a publisher, the company will release the previously announced games Under The Waves and Dustborn.
