PS Blog’s latest God of War Ragnarok availability review gave the Sony Santa Monica team the opportunity to show, albeit indirectly, the graphical evolution of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 blockbuster adventure over the past few months. .
Coinciding with the publication of a PS Blog special on the multiple accessibility options for the new Norse epic of Kratos and Atreus, the Californian studio shared short but meaningful clips that essentially testify to the improvements made to the graphical sector of God of War Ragnarok.
The cutscenes show the same in-game cutscenes that SIE Santa Monica showed in the now-famous God of War Ragnarok Reveal Trailer, albeit in a slightly different version.
Comparing the frames of the previous video with scenes from the most recent videos posted on the PlayStation blog, you can almost immediately notice the changes made by the authors of Sony Santa Monica to the settings (with the addition of snow and volumetric fog), to the polygonal character models on the screen (Kratos’s hands are more detailed) and in textures (as in the case of Atreus).
