Jurassic World: Dominance will reportedly be the longest run of the Jurassic World and Jurassic Park franchises. The upcoming triquel will be the culmination of both stories as, after the events of Jurassic World, the world is faced with dinosaurs being unleashed and forcing humanity to learn to live and hunt alongside deadly creatures. New and familiar faces will need to work together in an attempt to find a way to restore balance to the world before a new age of dinosaurs takes over.

Jurassic World: Dominion Returns Stars of the Original Park and Sequel Trilogy Veterans Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy and Bradley Darryl Wong. The film will also feature Mamoudou Ati, Scott Hayes, Dichen Lachman, DeWanda Wise and Campbell Scott, who will take on the role of Biosyn Genetics CEO Dr. Lewis Dodgson from Cameron Thore’s original Jurassic Park. Colin Trevorrow is back to work on Jurassic World: Domination. After numerous delays due to COVID, the film is gearing up for release this summer and viewers can expect quite a lengthy adventure.

The film will reportedly run at 2 hours and 26 minutes, making it the longest in the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World film series. The shortest part of both episodes is Jurassic Park 3, which is just over 92 minutes long.

The information that the duration of Jurassic World Dominion will be almost 2.5 hours will surely cause a discussion among viewers about the need for such a duration. Many recent blockbusters have been criticized by critics and audiences for their long running times, notably Matt Reeves’ Batman which ran just under three hours, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune which ran just over 2.5 hours, and Chloe’s The Eternals. Zhao, which was also just over 2.5 hours long and was criticized in particular for its boring pace.

While the previous entries in both franchises ran their stories for just over two hours to mixed reviews, Jurassic World: Dominion’s longer run time could be to the film’s advantage. Trevorrow has previously revealed that the film will follow the original Jurassic Park trio in their own storyline and then meet the characters of Pratt’s World and Howard, and since trailers for the triquel show the latter will have a lot of action and storytelling, increased time should help balance the two narratives better, rather than risk an overloaded story. Only time will tell how critics and audiences will react to the long running time when the film hits theaters on June 10th.
