New Unreal Engine V5.1 appears to improve performance of The Matrix Awakens tech demo


Epic has apparently released a new development branch of their new Unreal Engine V5.1 game engine, and it appears to have improved the performance of the Matrix Awakens tech demo.

According to Dsogaming, YouTuber and plugin creator Maxime Dupart has released a new version of the Epic City demo as a packaged executable running in the Unreal Engine 5.1 upstream. As Dupart mentioned, in order to run this demo, users will need DirectX12 Ultimate. This new demo of City features a “Settings Menu” which adds a useful settings menu containing all of the available Unreal Engine settings features.

This new version seems to improve performance – as you can see in the video below, there are fewer stutters in the Megacity demo.
