According to rumors circulating on the net, there is a major controversy at Disney over the distribution of the new Pixar movie Buzz Lightyear.
If you remember, back in the summer of 2020, there were rumors that Soul would not be released in theaters and would go straight to the Disney Plus streaming service. Then many were simply stunned, could not believe this information. And you know what? A few months later, that is exactly what happened. After the “Soul” leak, which turned out to be very profitable for Disney Plus because it helped lift their last and first quarter numbers to the stratosphere, Pixar’s “Luka” and “I’m Blushing” have gone out of theaters altogether.
But it seems that even within the Mickey Mouse company itself, there are differing opinions on what to do next, especially with the release of Lightyear, one of the most hotly anticipated films of this year, as World of Reel at least claims. .
The company is currently in a civil war of sorts between Pixar and Disney, and much of that has to do with Toy Story’s spin-off Buzz Lightyear, coming out this summer. You can call it “despair mode” as some Pixar employees are reportedly already considering the idea of suing the House of Mouse.
Obviously, it is worth treating everything with a share of skepticism, since the reliability of the sources is unknown, but such a hypothesis can always provide food for thought and discussion.
Buzz Lightyear is slated to release on June 17, 2022.
