Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time Remake will be released in the next couple of years

Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake has had more than one delay since the publisher announced it to the world, and with a brief development update, it looks like fans will have to endure at least another year. In its latest financial statement, Ubisoft confirmed that it plans to release a remake of the 2003 game in 2022-23.

“We want to take a moment to assure you that development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is still ongoing, motivated and inspired by your feedback,” Ubisoft said. “We will keep you updated on our future successes and would like to thank all of you for your unwavering support and patience.”

Officially announced during the Ubisoft Forward event in September 2020, the original Prince of Persia launch date in January 2021 has been pushed back to March 2021. Two months later, Ubisoft will announce that the game has been postponed indefinitely in the future so that visuals, combat, and a new aiming system can be refined for launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox X | S series.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time isn’t the only Ubisoft game to experience a delay, as Ubisoft’s financial report also revealed that its guitar learning app Rocksmith + and Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland are being pushed back to 2022.
