Resident Evil remake turns 20 years old

The remake of the original game from the notorious Resident Evil series turned 20 yesterday.

The Resident Evil remake was released on March 22, 2002 on the Nintendo GameCube console, in 2008 on the Nintendo Wii, and in 2015 and 2019, 13 and 17 years respectively after its original release, it visited the platforms PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Switch. The remake not only updated the visuals and gameplay of the original game, but also added an additional storyline related to the family of George Trevor – the architect of the Spencer mansion – the game’s setting.

The remake received positive reviews from both critics and players, and is considered one of the best games in the Resident Evil series.

The game’s birthday was also celebrated by the developers and publishers of Capcom on social networks.
