A new report linked to Dead Island 2 claims that the highly anticipated open-world game is actually closer to release than many fans might have expected. Announced back in 2014, publisher Deep Silver has repeatedly stated over the years that a sequel to Dead Island is still in development. And while those promises haven’t led to any major results for the game over the past decade, it looks like that silence is about to end soon.
On a recent episode of the Sacred Symbols podcast, host Colin Moriarty shared that he heard that Dead Island 2 could be re-revealed and released shortly thereafter in 2022. Moriarty cited an anonymous source who is familiar with the development process of Dead Island 2. As for when the game could be released, Moriarty said that it would most likely be released in the fall.
