Sean Penn complained about “too feminine men” in American culture

During the promotional tour of his new film The Counterfeiter, two-time Oscar winner Sean Penn shared his opinion about modern men. According to him, they have become “too feminine.”

“I am in a club that believes that men in American culture today have become wildly feminine. I don’t think being rude or insensitive or disrespectful of a woman has or ever has to do with masculinity. But I also believe that in order to be honest with women, we do not have to become them, ”said Penn.

Next to Penn during the conversation was his daughter Dylan Penn, who starred in The Counterfeiter. What her father said, according to the interviewer, made her “silent and look into the void.”

Asked for clarification, Penn replied, “There are women in my life who don’t see masculinity as a sign of oppression. In my opinion, there are now a lot of cowardly genes that make you change jeans for skirts.

Recall that Penn received his second Oscar in 2009 for the role of LGBT activist Harvey Milk, the first openly gay person to hold a public office in California, USA.

The Counterfeiter was screened for the first time in competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. The film about a thief father and his difficult relationship with his daughter received devastating reviews from critics and had a weak start at the American box office. Now the tape is available in Russian cinemas.
