Star Wars fans are speculating that Cal Kestis could appear in the upcoming Disney series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Cal, the main character of the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order created in the image and likeness of a real-life actor and became very popular due to the success of the game.
The trailer for the series was released on Wednesday, and fans flocked to watch a preview of the much-anticipated series, which sees Ewan McGregor reprise his role as Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place during the years when the titular character is hiding on Tatooine and watching Luke Skywalker from afar.
A recently surfaced video has sparked speculation about Cal’s possible role in the series. Disney+ uses many characters from The Clone Wars and Rebels in games that are both prequels and sequels to the main trilogy, so who can blame people waiting for a Fallen Order Jedi to show up?
Cameron Monaghan, who recently appeared on DC’s Gotham, played Cal, a young Padawan who survived the Great Jedi Purge but was discovered after using the Force. The game was received very positively and is now considered one of the best Star Wars iterations in recent memory. A sequel to the game from Respawn has since been confirmed.
It’s also worth noting that the junkyard planet Brakka was featured in The Bad Batch, and a BD droid that could very well be Cal’s BD-1 appeared in the Bobba Fett Book episode. Obi-Wan’s new trailer even shows off the Inquisitor Fortress, one of the game’s most iconic locations. With so many crossovers, Monaghan could very well be on par with McGregor.
