The stunning Starfield teaser trailer from last year’s Xbox and Bethesda showcase is non-CGI and was indeed recorded entirely in-game.

Keith Beltramini, Bethesda’s lighting artist, revealed on his ArtStation page that the teaser for the Starfield trailer was recorded in-game, on a workstation with an RTX 2080 Super graphics card.

Asked if the teaser trailer was filmed on Xbox Series X|S or PC, Beltramini said in a deleted comment that the teaser was filmed entirely in-game using Nvidia cards.

“These shots were taken on our standard workstations with RTX 2080 Super cards. There is no pre-rendering here, this is a capture from the game itself. So on Xbox [Series] X everything will be exactly the same. Maybe even better,” Beltramini replied.

We haven’t seen gameplay footage of Starfield yet, but that should change this summer as Xbox and Bethesda plan to reveal more about their highly anticipated sci-fi RPG.

Bethesda says that Starfield is built on the Creation Engine, which has received a number of major improvements over the years, so you can expect a significant improvement in terms of visual fidelity, as well as stability and optimization.

Starfield will release on November 11, 2022 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. It will also be available on Day 1 on Game Pass for consoles and PC.
