Steam has a page and the first details of the third-person action game Hell is Us

Nacon today announced a new game based on a brand new intellectual property titled Hell is Us, powered by Unreal Engine 5 and developed by the Rogue Factor team in conjunction with the former art director of the Deus Ex series.

It’s a third-person action-adventure set in a future torn apart by civil war, where the protagonist constantly battles mysterious creatures that appeared after a mysterious event, simply called “calamity”. Drone and sword from another era will become your true allies as you make your way through the lands teeming with terrible chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.

Presentation trailer available here, if you can’t watch it, has a particularly inspired and artistic cut-up, showing a murder scene, a field covered in human corpses and strange humanoids, and finally what could be the protagonist from the back, equipped with some kind of rather unsettling drone creature uniforms and a great sword. In the game we will be able to use not only swords, but also spears with axes, the creators promise a wide range of weapons.

The video ends with a quote from Shakespeare, showing off the rather artistic and deep cut this production can have.

On the other hand, art director Jonathan Jacques-Bellete has already shown his skills by taking on the artistic imprint of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, as well as working on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy before leaving Eidos Montreal.

Our goal in Hell is Us is to get back to real adventure with exploration. Without the need for detailed quest logs or precise map waypoints, we want players to experience the thrill of adventuring with their senses and instinct.

Hell is Us is expected to release in 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S powered by Unreal Engine 5.
