A film based on Ghost of Tsushima will be made and has already found its screenwriter: Takashi Dosher, known for the sci-fi romance film Settled (in which he is both a screenwriter and director).
The film will be directed by John Wick director Chad Stahelski. The film will be produced by Peter Kang of Sucker Punch. Stahelski, Alex Young and Jason Spitz will serve as producers through 87Eleven Entertainment. Asad Kizilbash and Carter Swan will produce the feature film for PlayStation Productions.
Previously, Doscher wrote and directed the science fiction novel The Last Woman on Earth, starring Freida Pinto and Leslie Odom Jr.; The film premiered in competition at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival.
I don’t think it’s worth mentioning, but Ghost of Tsushima is a PS4 and PS5 game, a big commercial success from Sucker Punch. The game tells the story of Jin Sakai, a samurai from the island of Tsushima, who is defeated and almost killed during the Mongol invasion. The game is about the honor of being a samurai, which contrasts with the means the protagonist uses to drive the invaders out of his home.
The film “Ghost of Tsushima” is still in the early stages of production.
