The latest patch to No Man’s Sky improved explosions in the game

With its 5th anniversary approaching, No Man’s Sky is still building and improving its impressive intergalactic world. Earlier in June, Hello Games released an epic “Prisms” update, which added furry creatures and flying pets for the first time. The latest update 3.53 is a smaller fix that fixes some issues created by Prisms.

The biggest addition in the new patch is what Hello Games describes as “an improved effect for the explosion of a ship during space combat.” Other important changes in the update include fixes for issues in the new Prisms content, such as bugs related to the display of furry creatures.

While the list of fixes in this patch is fairly short, Hello Games encouraged players to continue to report new bugs through Zendesk or console crash reports for the development team to fix.

Patch notes

  • Fixed a bug due to which some furry creatures could be missing the hologram effect when located on a space anomaly.
  • Improved the effect of the explosion of the ship during space combat.
  • Fixed a bug due to which the stars could be closer than they should in VR.
  • Fixed rare crash related to bases.

With No Man’s Sky turning five in August, it’s likely that players can expect more surprises ahead of the anniversary date. The game recently had a surprise crossover with Mass Effect to coincide with the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, where No Man’s Sky players could unlock the iconic Normandy SR1 for their fleet.
