The management of Electronic Arts recognized the launch of Battlefield 2042 unsuccessful


Today during the quarterly financial conference Electronic Arts For Analysts and Investors, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson Discusses Game Results Battlefield 2042.

Wilson acknowledged that the game fell short of expectations. He then noted that this is an ambitious game, and the development team was looking to innovate in many ways, such as scale, new modes, fast-paced gameplay, and more.

However, developing the game by a team working from home proved to be a challenge. EA believed that the game was ready to be put into the hands of players, and although it entered the market with “high stability”, as more players became familiar with the game, there were “unforeseen performance issues” that needed to be was to decide.

Wilson also acknowledged that some of the design choices “didn’t resonate with everyone in the community.” However, he promised to make every effort to realize the full potential of the game. Major updates have already been implemented and there is still a lot to be done.

Significant updates will continue in the coming weeks, with the first season of live content pushed back to early summer. Later in a conference call, Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen confirmed that the game was “a disappointment”.

Battlefield 2042 is available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
