The president Gearbox Software Randy Pitchford confirmed that the game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will have full cross-platform play on all platforms. This includes support PlayStationwhich has been known to be blocked from crossplay in Borderlands 3. Pitchford thanked the partners from 2k Games and all other companies, including Sonyfor collaborating on this.
However, in a subsequent tweet, he noted that there could be hitches as “none of the platforms were designed for this.”
Please don’t be offended by us if there are any hiccups. It’s a tricky thing and none of the platforms were designed for it. We’ve done an incredible job making this happen and trying to make it as easy to use as possible, but this is new territory and the wilderness is not a test environment.
Time will tell what problems arise, so if you’re going to buy a shooter primarily for cross-platform co-op, it might be better to wait with the purchase. In a separate tweet, Pitchford called the addition of PlayStation platforms to crossplay Borderlands 3 “inevitable”. More information will be available “as soon as we receive it”.
A game Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands coming out March 25th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 And PC (this is exclusive to Epic Games Store).
