Spider-Man veteran Tobey Maguire is back in the public eye with his triumphant return to his iconic role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. A video has surfaced on Spider-Man’s official YouTube channel of all three of the Spiders (Maguire, Holland, and Garfield) sitting down with Pete Hammond to discuss the latest friendly neighbor movie.
During an interview, the 46-year-old Maguire described what it was like to try on the Spider-Man costume again 14 years after the release of Spider-Man: The Enemy in Reflection. This time, Toby’s crotch didn’t seem to be rubbing, but it wasn’t without its difficulties.
It was inconvenient to put it on, it is very stupid. But it also has a kind of power in a way because it brings me back to my character. It’s true, there’s so much affinity in this character, his image means so much to people, that once you get over the stupid idea of wearing lycra or spandex, you say to yourself, “Oh, wow. This is so cool. It’s both responsibility and blessing. And I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a spider again. Honestly, the opportunity to work with these guys (Holland and Garfield – Approx. aut.) gave me a much, much richer experience than I expected or could even imagine.
