Valve stated that the drifting of the Steam Deck sticks was due to a software bug. The fix has already been released

On Tuesday, several Reddit users posted a video confirming that their devices were experiencing stick drift. Valve quickly responded to the problem and it seems that they have already solved it. Designer Lawrence Young told users on social media that a fix has now been released.

Hey everyone, a quick note about Steam Deck sticks. The team looked into the reported issues and it turned out that it was a dead zone regression due to a recent firmware update. We just submitted a hotfix to fix this issue.

The fix appears to have worked, as one Reddit user who complained about the drift reported that his issue was now fixed, while another deleted his post entirely.
